So a few days ago, I bought some 3rd party batteries for 12$ each.
They should have about, 2600mAh, which is way more than the original LP-E6 from the R7.
Additionally, you should know that the original battery costs 110$ for one LP-E6NH with 2130mAh (Switzerland)
Because I didn’t want to spend that much money (110$ is a lot for one battery), I gave the cheaper ones a try.
Everything worked fine until I tried to charge them through the camera. As expected, this is a feature only original Canon LP-E6N batteries support.
This isn’t a problem for me, I mainly charge my batteries in a Patona Dualcharge-box which works great.
After some time I noticed another problem, which completely changes the situation. The H+ 15fps mode only works with the original Canon battery….
This is a huge problem for me, because I use that a lot.
So for now I have to use my cheap batteries to charge the original through the camera….
Additionally, I will buy some Patona batteries to test if they can handle the R7’s requirements
I have the same problem. Non-Canon batteries do not allow H+ shooting on my Canon R7. However, I have found that the Manfrotto E6N batteries DO allow H+ shooting. But they are only slightly cheaper ($60 vs $79) than the Canon batteries so I’ll stick to the Canons.
I bought the Patona ones https://amzn.to/3JlC7js
They are way cheaper, and have more mAh than the original.
They work just like the Canon original batteries.
